Wrist Manipulation with Cross Hand Grab

There are many different ways to escape a cross hand grab and this one involves wrist manipulation. When you first begin practicing this technique it’s very important that you take your time and don’t try to go to fast. Too much speed to early is a great way to snap your self defense partners wrist. One the street, in a self defense situation, going fast is a good thing, not in the dojo. When you do this technique right, it allows you to control your opponent and make quick decisions on what you want to do next. I don’t believe in “letting go” of an attacker only to have them pull a weapon or chase you down, but that is a decision that each person has to make based on their current situation.

Kevin Box The punch to the nose is quick and sets up the wrist lock with ease. Even if you need to punch repeatively…they’ll let go:) Like!
